  • May God bless those who have stood firmly, and reward those who chose not to steal from others in this time of need. Though miles away, we stand with you at this time of need. Prayer can heal the deepest wounds!

  • Jesus said, "who among you without sin, cast the first stone!" The ones who wrote judging victims of this catastrophe have sin in their lives (as we all do.)If it's not drugdealing -it's something else. They don't know who the damaged property in the pic belonged to.

And besides some folk feel if they can't get decent jobs with decent wage, that dealing pays. That's wrong, and so is job descrimination; two wrongs don't equal right.

  • My name is Lisa, I live in Pascagoula Ms. I lost everything I owned to Katrina and I just moved here from South Dakota. But I will say this I have seen more hospitality from complete strangers who also lost everything due to katrina, than from complete strangers who think that I am from New Orleans and think that I would be better off not going back home. I want to thank everyone for their lack of morals who think everyone is a crack addict. If not for you people this world would not have a sense of humor. I never corrected those people who thought I was from New Orleans, what was the use. It didn't matter where you lived the whole southern gulf coast was destroyed. Please remember that when your house and belongings get taken away by a massive tornado or flood.

  • I think it is really sad that fellow Americans, such as yourselfs can sit and look at these pictures of a devestating event and make jokes about drugs and sex, you need to grow up and realize this was a terrible event that happened to people just like you. If you are rich, old, young, poor, black, or white this shit is real and it happened to Americans, grow up, this shit or something similar could happen to you and then it wouldn't be funny!

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 1:21 PM

  • This is really sad!! I live about 5 minutes outside of the greater New Orleans area, and it is really sad that people can speak of this disaster in such a way!! New Orleans is about much more than cat selling and crack selling. But aside from that, many innocent lives were lost in this tragedy. Nobody, good or bad deserves to lose their life this way. Just sit for a moment and imagine the fear these people must have lived. Can you imagine standing on a cement elevated highway, in 90 degree heat, surrounding by water, no where to go, no way to get there, no one to help, and you are watching your loved ones die one-by-one. Also, this was not just the poor. Their were also wealthy people stuck in the same situation. It also was not and still is not a race issue. Many million dollar mansions were destroyed as well as poverty level housing. And just like other states have poverty stricken cities, such as Detroit, Michigan, so does Louisiana. So, whoever is writing these horrible, insensitive messages, you need to put your eyes where your ASS seems to be and come see the devastation this city has suffered first hand. Then see how funny you think it is. Also keep in mind-EVERY DOG GETS THEIR DAY!!!!!

  • I just got back form the gulf coast. I was rebuilding houses in mississippi. You dont understand the damage untill you are looking at it and able to touch it! You would be surprised of some of the things that survived the storm! Glass stuff out in the middle of no where that is still in tact. I saw I starbuks frapachino in the little glass bottles, PREFECT didnt get broken or anyhting! It was amazing!!! If you ahvent already you sould take a trip to the gulf coast!!

What the hell is your problem? I can't wait until something like this happens to you. You deserve everything you get. People are dying and suffering you insensitive ass! God will deal with you later.

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 9:43 AM

  • To all the people who dont give a fuck and think its funny, that shit is not cool at all! but you probably wouldnt give a fuck because it happen to you! let me tell yall something, Im orginally from Dallas but I have been working out there for about 6 in a half weeks and that shit is not a pretty site! the city hasnt pick up hardly none of the trash, houses are fucked up and it was really fuck up were I cried! that shit isnt nothing to be playing with so until that shit happens to you, SHUT THE FUCK UP WITH THE NEGATIVITY!! thats real foul!!!

  • I live in Marrero, about 5 minutes from New Orleans. Luckily, we did not flood, but life here is still not the same, almost 9 months after Katrina. The bad thing is, in about 2 weeks, hurricane season is starting again. There are still hundreds of thousands of people living in FEMA trailers, the levees still are not completely fixed, and many people still have not been able to come back yet. Thousands of homes are still untouched and a mess. It's kind of weird. I am 23 years old and have never evacuated until Katrina and the only reason I did then was because of my 2 year old. I was never afraid of hurricanes until now. There is an obvious sense of apprehensiveness, uneasyness, and anxiety in all of the people that did return. What is this year going to be like???? Are the levees going to be finished and will they withstand the force they are made to withstand??? Are the levees on the westbank weaker than they were before Katrina?? IS THE GOVERNMENT PREPARED TO MAKE LESS MISTAKES THIS TIME??? If all goes well this year, people may have a small sense of security. As of now, I think most people are fearful as to what this year will be like.

  • Hi, my family and i are Hurricane Katrina survivours too. We now live in
Alabama. We have been back a few times.

  • I don't live in New Orleans, but I have relatives that live within 5 minutes of downtown. They were blessed enough to have inimal damage, but it's almost a year later and there are still many places that look like hardly anytime has gone by, I've seen them myself. Anyone who can make fun of a situation has no heart and can have fun rotting in Hell for eternity. This isn't a joke, people there still need help, not to be made fun of for their misfortunes. I pray to God that they will all make it through.
