I think it was about race you wouldn't see rich white people laying in the street begging for food i think it's horrible how they were treated they deserve better and why don't the so-called president do more???
I think it is the mayor's fault, those buses could have saved alot of lives and I hope he is ashamed and I hope he cant sleep at night knowing what he has did to so many babies and children who was not able to help themself. I hope he rots in hell for this and people of his own color. Shame on him and God bless those people white and black they are people.
The reason there was more black people than white is because they did not have the transportation to get out of N.O.... and that is because some prefer to sit at home and collect food stamps and welfare instead of working for a living.
I wish people would stop playing the race card. This was a problem for everyone. Not white, black, hispanic or oriental. Those who had a way to get out of the city got out, white or black or whatever. You don't hear people on the Gulf Coast saying it was a black and white issue. They are helping each other side by side. They understand Hurricanes do not see color (black or white). what ever is in their way, watch out.
all those who say its not a black thing are either rasist themselves or in denial. They are trying to trivialise the underlying issues of why the situation was dealt with so carelessly because they couldn't 'care less' about the majority of people that suffered and are suffering, ie the BLACK people.
Let me guess Michelle - you are black. Everyone wants to put the blame on someone else. While God put us on this beautiful earth, We are responsible for our own actions. It seems to me that the majority of those (mostly low income) that were devastated by this terrible event seem to want restitution for there inconvience. A lot of people lost there jobs and have nothing to go back to - but I guarantee that the people on welfare will still be getting paid with their checks! Now - that's not being a racist. It's called observation. Call it like it is.
Jesse Jackson needs to get a job. About almost every time you see him in the media it always seems he is out to get free publicity, be it a disaster, alleged lynching of a black person, labor rallies and disputes (strikes) and the list goes on. His most recent opportunnistic moment was the bus caravan to bring Katrina (New Orleans) evacuees back home to rebuild and find jobs to get a new start!!! He managed to get approx. 200 people on these buses after several stops between Chicago and New Orleans. Guess what!!! only about 15 New Orleans residents were on his buses, the rest were homeless people and those looking to get jobs.He really flopped on this one. Perspective employers were on hand to hire these people and just a few wanted a job or were qualified. On top of that now we had 200 more homeless people to feed and no place to put them. We need to get rid of people like Jesse, Duke, Sharpton and Farrecan. People like this only cause more racial divide and hatred. One evacuee in Texas believes the white people blew up the levees to force the poor black people to leave the city...why... because Louis Farrecan said so. Ain't that a kick in the ass! The same rich white people that blew up the levees lost everything they owned to the same flood waters. White skin does not make you rich..I know this as fact because I worked hard fo over forty years for what I have and I damm sure I ain't rich. Don't preach racial hatred, work to erase it. And this list goes on.... "judge people by their character not the color of their skin"
This isn't a race issue! So stop arguing about it. People died in this horrible tragedy. can't you people see that! My God! stop complaining about Bush and what he did or didn't do! all we can do now is help these poor people!
My Family an I was a victim Of Hurricane Katrina. We didn't have the money to leave.Because I had just pay all my bills. So we decide to go by a family memeber that stay in NEW ORLEANS.That was the worse thing we did.WE stay on the second floor of the apartment.WE cry everynight for 3 days.We went without food and water.our kids was crying because they was hungry and thirsty. that hurt me to my heart to see them crying. When we finally got rescue we was bought to I-10.Then we had to sleep on I-10 for 4 more days without food and water before the army start bring us food and water. Then the buses start come we was so happy. We load up on the bus and was take to houston texas were i been stay at since Katrina.

This site has pictures from Hurricane Katrina. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family and friends of those injured or killed in one of the biggest natural disasters in American history. These Hurricane Katrina pictures serve as a memory of this horrible event.

Jesse does not appear to be handing out nutrition bars.
Why not? He could afford to, and it would show that he thought about doing something helpful.
Guess when you are a political opportunist, you just run towards the limelight and there is no time to think? 73s TG

Jesse is a political opportunist and he like to stir up racial unrest. I'm sure that is what he's doing, making this all about race.

Jesse is real good at stirring up racial unrest. I'm sure he is trying to make everything about race.
